Level 1, Four Lessons

Let students dive into iOS programming by discovering Xcode, Interface Builder and the iOS Simulator. Demonstrate the basics of Auto Layout and connecting interface views to controller actions.

The Finished App

Familiarize yourself with the project, and demonstrate the app students will build.

Lesson 1

Gain familiarity with Xcode and Interface Builder by establishing a basic workflow of making changes and running the app in the iOS Simulator.

Lesson 2

Gain familiarity with Auto Layout constraints by adding a new interface component to the view.

Lesson 3

Introduce Apple development tools, including Xcode, iOS Simulator, Swift, and frameworks. Demonstrate connecting interface views to controller actions.

Lesson 4

Practice connecting views to controllers by adding additional buttons and actions.
